Adjudicator Spotlight: Judith Vardy RAD RTS & Examiner, FISTD, ALAM, ABT NTC
Judith is a fully registered teaching member of the Royal Academy of Dance (Ballet), and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (Tap, Modern & National branches). She also holds the LAMDA Acting Diploma and the RADA Certificate in Shakespeare. She is an examiner with The Royal Academy of Dance, and holds Fellowship Status with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. She is also an affiliated adjudicator for the British and International Federation of Festivals, All England Dance Competition and Theatre Dance Council International.
Judith is a full Equity Member and began her acting career with the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, under the direction of Michael Croft, and going on to work as a professional dancer/actress, travelling extensively throughout the UK, Europe, Japan, America and the Caribbean. She also spent 18 months working in British Circus and as an aerial ballet artiste.
Television/film credits include: Spender, A Time to Dance, Charlie Chaplin, Billy Smarts Christmas and Easter Circus’s, Robert Bros. Easter Circus, Circus World Championships. After retiring from her performing career, Judith went on to examine for British Theatre Dance Association and also became an RSA qualified fitness instructor.
Judith has principal of JVS Performing Arts for over 25 years. She has also been guest choreographer and dance instructor on the Theatre Magnet of Dr. Phillips High School, Orlando, Florida, and Dance Instructor at Montverde Academy. Her time is now spent travelling over the Atlantic working equally between the USA and UK, producing and directing shows, lecturing and teaching.
Judith lectured at the International Dance Teachers Web Conference and Expo in Las Vegas alongside top choreographers and teachers including Wayne Sleep and Miller and Ben. She has recently toured Brazil, Canada, USA, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Portugal, Austria and Germany in her capacity as an examiner.
After providing juvenile dancers and choreographing for Christmas pantomime regularly over the years, Judith then produced and directed these popular professional pantomimes. In her spare time Judith enjoys dinner with friends and cycling, and is a member of Rotary International.
